We have an immediate opening for a Global Director, Supply Chain. This position will be based out of our corporate headquarters in Parma, OH, and will support our Engineered Solutions line of business. The primary function of this position will be to direct and develop the transformation of the Engineered Solutions Inventory Control, Production Planning and Order Fulfillment Systems. See below for a summary of responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes controlled and measurable inventory guidelines to support the usage of recommended global products, and establishes supply and demand control quantities for stock products and raw materials.
- Initiates the strategies for the ordering / monitoring of inventory levels in a complex and dynamic industrial environment.
- Establishes systems to ensure; reliability of delivery commitments, scheduling of product, visibility of product flow.
- Coordinates the near term balancing of supply and demand, as a result of variations in supply and demand, at local, regional and global levels.
- Global sourcing decisions; including the establishment of outsourcing partnerships if needed.
- Global capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain a three year master schedule and supporting inventory plan.
- Global Raw Material planning.
- Customer value creation responding to needs that provide added-values and generates significant customer satisfaction.
- Develop business plans and measures of performance based on Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to Senior Managers, Sales Teams and Operations employees.
- Owns and drives S&OP for the Engineered Solutions line of business.
- Ensures compliance with SOX and Export Control requirements.
- Project and product management where planning and implementation of products, projects, product development, and processes meet cost and resource expectations.
- Assists the company to anticipate and plan for the efforts and effects of organizational and business process change.
- Utilize Value Stream Mapping to develop accountabilities in order to achieve maximum product velocity.
- Encourages innovation and exploration of non-traditional ideas and/or modernization of globally founded products, services and programs/processes.
- Travel requirements: International – 10%; Domestic – 20%.
Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree required.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Finance and/or equivalent or MBA a preferred.
- Minimum 10 years management experience in sales and operations.
- Experience in strategic planning initiatives.
- Strong Lean Manufacturing and supply chain management skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as; JDE OneWorld Applications, Web-based communications, applications and content development, and configuration.
- ERP II capability with a “Pull” mentality.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to gain an extensive knowledge of GrafTech’s manufacturing, order entry, inventory management and financial systems.
- Ability to gain a very good understanding of production/process/cost related issues in the Engineered Solutions business.
